  • Hi,

Did you mean that this error appeared when you tried to use ASUS live update?

If so, I recommend you contact ASUS support since they will be more familiar with their own products.

On my side, here is what we can do:

Run process monitor to capture this program's actions when you run ASUS live update to repro this issue:

    Process Monitor v3.05

How to use, please refer to this article:

Using Process Monitor to capture system events

Then check the captured items to see where it attempt to call this bat file.

  • Take a backup of your registry

    Start > Run > regedit

    File > Export > filename.reg

Save the backup in safe location.

Copy and paste the below lines to notepad and save it as resolve.reg (user defined name) in desktop

double click the resolve.reg and click OK to merge the keys to registry.

    Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00

    [-HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\FileExts\.bat]
    [-HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Classes\.bat]
    [-HKEY_CURRENT_USER\SOFTWARE\Classes\batfile]

    [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Classes\.bat]
    @="batfile"

    [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Classes\batfile\shell\open\command]
    @="\"%1\" %*"
