Capturing ADO queries RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi,

I'm trying to figure out a way to capture SQL queries from a classic ASP website and process them in whichever way I need to.

    The situation is:

We have an application written in Classic ASP that is being migrated to a more up-to-date one, which includes changes to the database structure.

I have been told that I am not allowed to make any changes AT ALL to the code.

All database access is via SQL strings using ADO.

For reading, tables are being replaced with views, and this has been shown to work. However it means that writes are not possible.

For writing, I need to capture the SQL and redirect it to an API that will deal with it appropriately. However, I am not allowed to modify the ASP scripts.

The only way I can think of doing this is by writing a tool that captures the request and re-routes it as appropriate.

Any suggestions? (Apart from "get a different job")
