RMS SDK 2.1 - Visual Studio Setup RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi,

I'm trying to use Rights Management Services SDK 2.1. On the step here:

    https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/information-protection/develop/how-to-configure-a-visual-studio-project-to-use-the-ad-rms-sdk-2-0

It appears to walk through setting include directories and library references for a C++ project.

However, I'm working in c# and working the the project example from here:

    https://github.com/Azure-Samples/Azure-Information-Protection-Samples/tree/master/DualServerTestApp

Do I still need to add those library references? In VS 2015 in a c# project, I can't find any place to enter any of the steps listed in this article: https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/information-protection/develop/how-to-configure-a-visual-studio-project-to-use-the-ad-rms-sdk-2-0

Also, when I run the DualServerTestApp,  it fails when it hits the call to SafeNativeMethods.IpcGetTemplateList(), with a message of "User does not have permission to access the requested resource on the server."

But, I can successfully open Word documents on my PC that are protected using AD RMS, so I feel like I have the proper access to the RMS server, and maybe my real issue is the references listed in the article above?

    Thanks,

    Sean

  • I answered my own question, there is an AD RMS web service ServerCertification.asmx file that specifically needs read permissions set. It's right in the README of the DualServerTestApp, and I missed it the first time around.
