Change Drop down Options Based on Status Via JavaScript RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi,

    I'm working on a Web-Part that will limit the status option based on it's current "Status".

    Example:

    Status options are: Approval, Completed and Rejected

    Now when the user creates an item it's default status is "Approval" upon submitting the form.

    The next person will be notified of the ticket with the link and before submitting the form he needs to choose the status is "Completed" or "Rejected". The JavaScript must remove "Approval" from the option. Basically it's just removing an option on a drop down depending on the status. Any thoughts how to execute that?

    All I have is this. Obviously its not working:

    <script language="javascript" type="text/javascript">

    var dropStat = document.getElementById("ctl00_m_g_ef941f4a_7f2d_4a75_a119_6f009e7a22ad_ctl00_ctl04_ctl03_ctl00_ctl00_ctl04_ctl00_ctl00");

    dropStat.onchange = function(){setActivity()};
    alert();
    function setActivity{

    alert();

    }

    </script>
