I have a Server 2008 R2 virtual machine hosted in Vmware ESX 4.1 that fails converting to Hyper-V Server 2012.
MS Virtual Machine Converter fails with the following error: The entry e219b01c is not a supported disk database entry for the descriptor.
I've converted several other virtual machines prior to this without a problem. This particular VM is the last remaining on this ESX host.
Have you tried using Disk2vhd?
We know that the difference between the
Disk2vhd and MVMC are:
- Disk2vhd is used to
virtualize a physical hard disk.
- Microsoft Virtual Machine
Converter can help to migrate
VMs from VMware vSphere
to Hyper-V platform.
But I've used the Disk2vhd
to virtualize virtual machines and everything
Or you can use the Virtual Machine Manager,
version for evaluation. How to
spot an activity, you can use
the trial version.
