    Hi!

    I get an error message when i want to change the Client cache settings on my App-V Management Console.

    I use the setting "Use free disk space threshold" and entered during the installation of my client a value of 2000.

    When I now change the value to 1500, the following error message appears:

     

    The Application Virtualization Client could not modify file system cache settings. An unexpected error occured. Report the following error code to your System Administrator.

    Error code: 4505CD-16D0670A-0000E005

     

    Any ideas?

    Wíth maximum size -option of client cache (the only option before 4.5), you cannot decrease the size from GUI, only increase. Maybe they implemented the same check to free-space option without really thinking if it applies the same way (as smaller value is actually more in that case!).

     

    But you can change it from registry, only thing is it might need that State -value to be set to 0 (zero) and rebooting the client, which would clear the contents of cache. As is case when you lower the maximum cache size.
