  • Question

  • Hi,

I'm unable to add / remove roles from our 2k8 server and cannot install SP2 - troubleshooting seems to indicate a failed / corrupt windows update & files missing from KB961260:

I've tried unpacking the files from: http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx/kb/961260   - but they seem to be missing / newer versions.

Any way to get hold of the files - seems to be the only way to avoid a complete server reinstall?

  • Hi,

Please download the Package_3_for_KB961260~31bf3856ad364e35~amd64~~6.0.1.3.zip file from the following site:

    http://cid-bfd1e6b70a3bbd14.skydrive.live.com/browse.aspx/.Public

Then, exact it and you will get 8 files. Copy them to C:\Windows\servicing\Packages to replace the old files.

After that, please check if the problem continues. If so, please let me know your IE version and OS version.
