The remote procedure call failed and did not execute.

    Question

  • Hello.

When I want open "Explorer" it show me "The remote procedure call failed and did not execute." and according to the some helps I found that I must check "Remote Procedure Call" and "RPC locator" services. The "Remote Procedure Call" is set to automatic and started and "RPC Locator" is set to manual but I can't change the "Remote Procedure Call" service :

    Why?

    Thank you.

  • Hi Windows.Geek,

According to your description, we could disable the security software temporarily. Then we could change the Service status by modify the registry keys as arnavsharma provided.

Hope it will be helpful to you

  • It is not "Remote Procedure Call (RPC) Locator" it just "Remote Procedure Call (RPC)".
