Issue setting up WSUS

Question
-
I have a Server 2019 standard enviroment and am trying to setup WSUS.
I have installed the Role and post restart attempt to launch the post installation task to configure however this fails.
I get errors relating to various services not working:
The DSS Authentication Web Service is not working.
The SimpleAuth Web Service is not working.
The Client Web Service is not working.
The Server Synchronization Web Service is not working.
The API Remoting Web Service is not working.
The Reporting Web Service is not working.
Does anyone have any ideas?

I sounds like the IIS server did not get installed. Check your prerequisites. And check the services themselves, are they actually not there, or can WSUS just not find them.

Hello,
Please try to update your Server 2019 first and then restart and check your server again.
If It's not solved you need to reinstall your Server 2019.

First, note the installation steps here (pay close attention to #3): https://www.ajtek.ca/wsus/how-to-remove-wsus-completely-and-reinstall-it/
Second, once you get it up and installed with the post-install tasks, check out my 8 part blog series on How to Setup, Manage, and Maintain WSUS

Hi,
To suggest a situation, please try the method mentioned in this article to check if the port is faulty: "Windows Update Services - Multiple Errors in Event Viewer - Event ID 12052, 12042, 12022, 12032, 12012, 12002, 13042".
