The system cannot find the file specified.

The command failed to complete successfully.

When I check log in event viewer

  • Hi,

Might want to check that the DNS is OK and is resolved (both Forward and Reverse).

Also check the health of the Domain Controller with the dcdiag commands.

  • Oh yeah, just reboot the DC.

  • I rebooted DC but when I tried Replicate Now a message like this appeared :

    Wednesday, December 4, 2019 4:44 AM
  • I have tried netdom query fsmo and the results are like this :

    PS C:\Users\Administrator> netdom query fsmo
    Schema master                     master.domain.local
    Domain naming master        master.domain.local
    PDC                                       master.domain.local
    RID pool manager                ad.domain.local
    Infrastructure master          ad.domain.local
    The command completed successfully.

But when I check Operation Masters in Active Directory Users and Computers on the RID, PDC, and Infrastructure tabs, the results are master.domain.local.

When I try to Replicate Now the error message is still the same "The target principal name is incorrect",

and the KDC service position is currently not running and is disabled

  • I try to follow what's here but it's still the same

  • Hello,
Thank you for posting in our TechNet forum.

According to dcdiag report, we can see:

We can see DNS test result details explained here:

Dcdiag for DNS: Test details explained
    https://social.technet.microsoft.com/wiki/contents/articles/17741.dcdiag-for-dns-test-details-explained.aspx

Meanwhile, please confirm the following information:

    1. How many domains are there in our forest?
    2. How many DCs are there in every domain?
    3. What is the SYSVOL folder replication type (FRS or DFSR)?

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\System\CurrentControlSet\Services\DFSR\Parameters\SysVols\Migrating Sysvols\LocalState registry subkey. If this registry subkey exists and its value is set to 3 (ELIMINATED), DFSR is being used. If the subkey does not exist, or if it has a different value, FRS is being used.
