IMAP Public Folder Access RRS feed

  • Question

  • We have an exchange 2003 enviroment setup with multi tenancy.  Each company has their own public folder in which only they have access.  This works great in Exchange however we ran into a issue today.  We found that users with IMAP (tested on android, iphone, outlook) have access to subscribe to ANY public folder in the system.  IMAP does not check the permissions and gives everyone full access.  Has anyone see this happen before?  Is there a way to lock down pf permissions?

  • Hi,

I recommend you to check the permission on the public folder.

Also please double check the permission via PFdavadmin tool.

Besides, please try to create a new test user and grant no permission on that public folder and then test the issue again.
