Windows Server 2012 R2 Standard unable to download patch from Microsoft site RRS feed

    • I built a new Windows 2012 R2 Standard server and now unable to download patch from microsoft site as it's showing 80072F8F error . I check the forum and and it was asking to check date/timezone . I checked all including route certificate and there is no luck . I would appreciate if anyone can help me fix the issue

    I did run DISM and it shows the issue fixed but no change . Anyway it resolved after I use following command to import proxy setting to WinHTTP

    Netsh winhttp import proxy source=ie

    Hi,

    First, please use DISM to check if there is any system file is corrupt.

    Did you use proxy to connect to the internet? Unsuitable configured proxy may cause this issue. Please connect to the server to the internet directly, then try again.

    Besides, please check if there is any firewall block the traffic of windows update. Here is the firewall requirement of windows update:

    If issue persists, please reproduce the issue, then post the windowsupdate.log here. It may give some hints.
