    Hello,

    I'm designing a new project that has an SQL DB and external content types pointing to SQL's tables. For clarity and simplicity, I want to use alias data types as described in:

    http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ms175007.aspx

    Has anyone implemented external content type pointing to an alias data type? Are there any limitations or caveats?

    I don't think it should be an issue if you are creating your ECT either (1) as a .NET Assembly in Visual Studio because it can handle complex data types, OR, if you create a WCF to consume your Data OR do a OData URI to your SQL Database, both of which can return JSON data and you can use that in your ECT.
