MS Project Professional Demo to MS Project Standard license? RRS feed

  • Question

  • We need to get started with using Project. Can I download the Demo that is MS Project Professional while we wait for our License comes in for Project Standard? should I be concerned with anything being the demo is a professional version and we'll be only using Standard?

Well, "being concerned" is subjective depending on what you plan to do with Project. There are a few features available in Project Pro that are not available in Project Standard. The main difference is the ability to work with Project Server. If you don't need to do your planning in a large enterprise type environment, then Project Standard should work fine for your needs.

  • Hi,

Just pay attention for a eature called "Inactive tasks" - they do not exist in Standard, and also the Team Planner View is not available in Standard.

    Greetings,
