How to apply certain conferencing policy on specific AD group/OU RRS feed

  • Question

  • Dear Experts,

I need to know how to apply certain SFB conferencing policy, i have created on Skype control panel, on specific AD Group/OU and not on all users.

I know it can be done only via some script but not able to figure out exactly what could it be.

Its Grant-CsClientPolicy but how to apply to just for specific group users or it can be applied only on OU?

    Please help.

  • Hi Anon,

You can create a site level policy that will be assigned to site level.

    Ref : https://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/jj721910(v=ocs.15).aspx

If you want to assign the policy to OU, then you may need to fetch the users from that particular OU and assign the policy per user based.

    Ex:

    Get-CsUser -OU "ou=Finance,dc=litwareinc,dc=com" | Grant-CsConferencingPolicy -PolicyName $Null

  • Hi Anon,

Welcome to post in our forum.

Regarding this issue, I am agree with Muralidharan.R.

For example, if you want to assign the per-user conferencing policy HRConferencingPolicy to all the users who work for the Human Resources department, you could run the following command:
    Get-CsUser -LdapFilter "Department=Human Resources" | Grant-CsConferencingPolicy -PolicyName "HRConferencingPolicy"

The following blog describes how to assign a per-user conferencing policy to multiple users, please refer to https://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/gg521015(v=ocs.15).aspx

Hope this reply is helpful to you.

    Regards,

    Alice Wang

  • Hi Anon,

I don't think you can apply the policies to groups. But you can extract the groups and assign policies to members(as it mentioned earlier reply)
