DPM 2012 - Monitoring Low Free Space on DPM's storage drives. RRS feed

  • Question

  • Good day!

I need to be able to see if the storage disks used by DPM are getting low on space.  However, the normal SCOM monitoring/alerts do not work, because the drive is only presented to the DPM server to use.  DPM then creates volumes on the drive.

I'm sure there's something in the SCOM/DPM Management Pack that should be monitoring this, and thusly we can enable.  But I just can't find it!

    Thanks!

  • The DPM monitoring pack only monitors if a disk is missing , you can see free disk space under DPM - State - Disks

Not sure if someone have written a custom monitor for it , but if you have many disk pools it not always a error one is full.

edit : just went back to check there is a check for event 3100 and 3169 that should actually pick up but only when volume is full
