SCCM 2012 - SQL Advice ? RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi,

I am trying to do some server sizing to  SCCM site (15000 clients).

My SCCM server will be Windows 2008 R2 x64.

So from going through the infO I can find I had some question on SQL
    on a primary site.

    1. Why would you put the SQL on a seperate box as opposed to be on
the same box as the site server. My instinct is to put it on
       same box for simplicity?

    2. Does WSUs and SCCM need to be on a seperate SQL instance (assuming on
       the sme SQL server).

    3. Is there a advantage to go for SQL 2012 over SQL 2008 ? (The
SQL would only be used for SCCM and WSUS).

    Thanks,
