Error while accessing Timesheet Approvals page - PS 2007 RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi All,

I am working with project server 2007 with SP2 and SQL server 2008 as back end.

Nowadays we have observed that lot of Timesheet managers are unable to open the Timesheet Approvals page, while they access the page they get error. This is observed to be an intermittent issue. Did anyone encounter this kind issue while accessing the timesheet approvals page before?  I assume that probably while loading the Timesheet data the page is getting timed out. not sure. Please suggest.

  • Hello Sudhir,

    1. Could be Memory issue on project server . I have noticed this when on a particular day, most of the TS approver approve the timesheets & that actually throws intermittent errors on PWA TS Approval page.
    2. What is the ULS error?
    3. Do you see any error logged in IIS logs?
    4. Are you defragmenting indexes for Project Server 2007 databases on a regular interval?database fragmentation can result in performance degradation (unnecessary disk activity) and inefficient space utilization. To mitigate fragmentation and minimize the rate at which fragmentation occurs

  • Hi Amit,

Nice to catch up with you after long time !!!

Will check with the systems team regarding the fragmentation part and let you know. FYI, the project server production environment is a shared environment with several applications running on the same boxes.
