  • client is not working here .is this happening on one client(windows 7) or all windows 7 machines ?

    are there any issues with wmi? there are cases where ccmexec will shutdown and might require uninstall of sccm and reinstall but before you should fix wmi.

    try reinstall the client also check if you are withint he boundairies specified in SCCM.

    To troubleshoot your client assignment error, you should first know how assignment works:

    Then, verify whether you have extended your AD schema and have SCCM published to AD or have SLP configured.

    Verify whether Boundaries are correctly configured and and the client is in the site boundary.

  • To repair it says in the log you posted above that you need to copy from another working system:

    51329 16:02:54 (0) ** => Recopy from a working system the missing WMI system files to 'C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\WBEM\

    Are you getting this WMI error message on more than one machine and if so, are they all the same OS?  IE Windows 7 AMD64 or Windows 7 x86?  Lets look for similarities.  If you can nail down any commonalities then we might get somewhere.

    Is your install media for Windows 7 official media (CD), or did you create a UFD (Flash drive) install image?  If I am correct, it looks like your older XP clients are OK, but your windows 7 is giving you problems?

  • no, this will not install the R3 client only the client. In order to install the R3 client you will have to

    1) Install the client with SP2 and afterwards install the R3 package (created at the site server)

    or

    2) Use the commandline patch=\\server\share\r3client.msp file

  • It does not matter if you install the client on a server or a workstation. The procedure is the same in both cases. You can also follow http://blogs.msdn.com/b/shitanshu/archive/2010/05/04/part-1-configuration-manager-r3-beta-deployment-in-microsoft-it.aspx for deploying R3 client and server side.

  • You either have to extend the AD schema, create the System Management and enable publishing to AD OR use a SLP. Is at least one of them available in your environment?
    You can also have a look at http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?displaylang=en&FamilyID=8b635615-b368-4e98-a4b3-d779611eced4 to get ConfigMgr up and running. It's a huge product that requires training and knowledge. So it's a good idea to read a book or attend a course before starting to implement it. Otherwise you will run into numerous issues.

  • Sounds like SLP is not configured anywhere.  Did you check out the link Torsten sent in his post on the SLP?  Configuration Manager needs to be fully configured before your clients will work right.  Actually, its one of many components that need to be fully configured before proper functionality occurs.  An00p and Torsten are steering you right, please check on your point configurations.

  • To repair it says in the log you posted above that you need to copy from another working system:

    51329 16:02:54 (0) ** => Recopy from a working system the missing WMI system files to 'C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\WBEM\

    Anything worth doing is worth doing right.
