Exporting content to pre-staged files RRS feed

  • Question

  • Good afternoon all

I've been tasked with building a remote site DP using pre-staged content. We've never done this before but I'd like to know if there is a powershell command that could export all content from SCCM that is assigned to a DP Group?

So for example we have 100 packages, 50 applications, 20 driver packages, 10 WSUS packages and 5 OSD WIM's assigned to DP Group "Alpha", is there a command that could locate all these and put them into a single package file?

At present the easiest method I've found is selecting the DP Group in the GUI, clicking on the "related content" links in the bottom right and packaging up each set of applications, packaged, WSUS etc sepereately.

    Thanks

    Ollie

  • After doing a bit more digging, these link is fairly helpful:

Cloning an existing DP will be easier for us.

  • This can be done, but requires massive scripting. You can use Powershell and the ConfigMgr cmdlets.

  • Thanks, I'm sure it was possible but was hoping someone had already done it or could give me a bit more direction?

  • Try starting here, should set you off on the correct path, http://www.ephingadmin.com/cm2012-prestage-all-the-contents/

As Torsten mentions though, automating the entire process is going to take a lot of work.
