Exchange Online Archive Mailbox (cloud only)

    Question

  • I've been curious with Archive mailbox lately and this thread (https://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/dn922147(v=exchg.150).aspx) has been very helpful in answering so many of my questions. 

    However i think it doesn't have a guide on how to delete an archive mailbox other than to wait for its 30 day period once it is disabled so that it will be deleted automatically. Is there a way around this?

    I don't know why you have such an requirement to delete a disabled archive mailbox immediately, but per my knowledge, there is no way to achieve.

  • I haven't done this myself before, but you might try this.

    Disable-Mailbox -Identity "Mailbox Name" -Archive -PermanentlyDisable
