in Windows 10 OS, unable to install System Center Endpoint Protection client, getting an error as failed to install EP client with exit code = 0x8007064c RRS feed

  • Hi,<o:p></o:p>

    We have configured System Center Endpoint Protection in our environment.<o:p></o:p>

    We are facing issue in installing the SCEP Client on few Windows 10 client systems, getting an error as failed to install EP client with exit code = 0x8007064c, below is the error screen shot. <o:p></o:p>

    however the same installer is working fine on other few client systems without any issues. <o:p></o:p>

    Please suggest on solution to install the SCEP client.

    What is the SCEP version did you install? Did you install SCEP from SCCM?

    Here are some reasons and resolution:

    1. Make sure there is no other security programs on your machine.

    2.Ensure the Windows Installer service is running.

    3. There is a resolution shared here: removing the DUTCH version of Security Essentials with English version installed.


    4.corrupted installtion or missing registry permissions:

    Change a new account to login and perform a clean boot.

    In addition, the  EndPointProtectionAgent.Log file is necessary for trouble shooting the problem. You can upload the log file to a network drive and share the link in forum if the above suggestions can't help.
