Hyper-V 2016 Generation 2 PXE Boot RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hello,

For some reason when trying to network boot on a Hyper-V Generation 2 Machine it starts up then sits at Performing DHCP Negotiation for around 5 seconds then fails. Then the summary says DHCP Failed.

I can confirm this works fine for Generation 1 Virtual Machines. I have also put in 60 & 66 options on the DHCP scope but same issue.

With 2012R2 it gave me an error code to work off. But just looks like it isn't getting an IP.

    Thanks

  • Hi Leo,

I got it to work by removing the DHCP scope and recreating it. Not really sure what went wrong.

    Thanks

  • Hi Ste99,

Are all the guests facing the same issue?

Is the issue always happening or randomly?

    Best Regards,
