Power Options Policy in place allow User to select on laptops

    Question

  • Can anyone point me in the right direction. I have a higher level policy setting power options they way we want them. Down the OU structure we have a laptop OU that we want the users to be able to select there own power settings. How can i do this?

  • My thought is just to delete the power options from the laptop OU and on the higher OU power options to just set an Item Level Filter for OU that is not "Laptop"

My one question is can the OU form ILT be a wildcard like *Laptop*

I assume it can but you know what assuming does :)

Do you use GPP or ADM templates to deploy power options?

  • GPP.

I got it working. I just did an item level target and made any laptop OU not get the Preference. The one gotcha i ran into was it doesnt accept wild cards * you just leave those out and it works.
