Present options invisible in Skype for Business 2015 RRS feed

  • Question

  • I originally had Lync 2013 installed but an update upgraded the install to Skype for Business 2015 (looks nice). However when I try to share my screen with a user when I click the presentation button, Options are listed but invisible. I can select them and they work but I don't know what I am selecting??? Very Strange.

    Help!!!

    Thanks

  • Hi StressedTechie,

I'm running the Skype for Business client on Win 8.1, it works as expected.

I suggest you install a fresh Windows 8.1 computer and verify if the issue persists.

    Best regards,

    Eric

  • Thanks Eric

I have tried all those but the problem remains I am afraid.

On further investigation even clicking on the settings cog icon and selecting Help displays a drop down with 5 options but only 2 are visible  Give feedback and Privacy Statement. This is really strange everything works okay and selecting the blank options opens what it should but its annoying its not working properly. I am reluctant to push this out to 70 staff without this fully working.

    Cheers

  • Hi Eric

Thanks for coming back. I have just tried the install on a Windows 7 machine and it works fine. Appears to be a issue with Windows 8.1 only

  • We are having the same issues in our company on Windows 7.  Big problem!  We installed the latest fixes which solved some of the problems, but for example, the options for transferring a call have disappeeared.

Depending on Office language chosen we also get different results.  Still looking for a solution.

    Regards,

    David

  • Hi David,

Did you find a solution for this issue yet? I also can simulate it on a W7 Enterprise. With the English language settings there is no issue but when I switch it to French for example. Certain components are missing. Like the present menu and the help menu.

I'm about on the edge of logging a call at Microsoft.

  • Did Microsoft help you find a solution to your problem?  I have an end user at my site experiencing this same issue.  Thanks.

  • The following when installed in order as a post install script fixed the problem for me -

    lyncmso2013-kb3039779-fullfile-x86-glb.exe
    lynchelploc2013-kb2889853-fullfile-x86-glb.exe
    mso2013-kb3054853-fullfile-x86-glb.exe

    Hope this helps!

  • I still have the same issue as OP and the KBs are already installed. Still do not see any text for options when 'Present' is clicked.

"Repair" installed Skype to no avail..

  • I'd use Office 2013 scrubber to clean away the entire Office 2013 suite. Then re-install MS Office 2013 suite followed by the following 3 patches (order must be maintained) -

    lyncmso2013-kb3039779-fullfile-x86-glb.exe

    lynchelploc2013-kb2889853-fullfile-x86-glb.exe

    mso2013-kb3054853-fullfile-x86-glb.exe

    Hope this helps!

  • Upgrade to skype 2016 from microsoft website and get rid of the problem. I was facing the same issue when it was upgraded from Lync to Skype by my organization.

  • I am experiencing the same issue.

When the display language is changed and there is a language pack installed (french in this instance) the buttons do not appear.

I have just followed the above process, it has not solved the issue.

    Anyone have any other ideas?
