Hide C-drive RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi,

We have pc's with a local user and a local administrator. The thing I want todo is that the local user can't see the C-drive but the local administrator can see the C drive. Now I downloaded PowerToys for XP but that doesn't do the trick.

    Can someone help me out?

  • If he can't see the C drive, he won't see his Desktop, his My Documents, a few necessary programs like Windows Explorer and Intenet Explorer, his Start Menu, etc.  Won't be much to do after he logs on and he probably won't be able to log off.

What do you really want?  Not the solution but the requirement.

  • I found the solution with SteadyState. I could hide the c-drive but the users are still able to work with the PC.

  • From my point, it's not worth it. It would be just a cosmetic measure instead of a real security. What is the purpose of hiding the drive?
