MIssing KB file RRS feed

  • General discussion

  • I have 2 computers. both have the very same software: winxp pro 2002, office 2003.

The desktop has a particular KBxxxxxxxxx file and DOES open .docx files. The other computer does not have that particular KB file and does not open .docx files.

I remember 2 years ago I had to get a certain KB update file or it just would not open newer files. After I found and installed the file it opened ANY newer file. I wish I had written down which file that was.

Where does Windows save those KB files to when it installs them?

Does windows keep the KB files after installation?

I found out about the KEY KB file doing a search, I don't remember where.

Is there a way to the history of my installed KB files? Date and things like that? I know add/remove will show me what IS installed, but not when.
