Small private WEB server is getting more load. RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hello,

We are hosting a website and its components are running on the WEB, SQL and APP VM servers in our data center in the US.

The website was setup to be accessed mainly for our customers in the US.  But we have recently seen access by non-US countries are sharply increasing.

We worry our current app hardware are not strong enough to support heavy access.  Does it make sense to move the entire server components used by the app to the cloud?  Or setup some sort of secondary servers in the amazon cloud infrastructure in Europe to share the load?  Can a load balancer device help?

Another consideration is that the app components also have dependencies from other local servers in our data center.

I know very little about the cloud.  Please advise the options we should look at.

    Thanks.
