Assistance with Background, sound profiles, etc... and Steady state RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi -

I'm configuring pc's to have our company logo as the desktop background and to turn off any and all sound for start up/shutdown and all the sounds inbetween as these devices will be in waiting rooms where the sound could potentially be heard in patients rooms.

Right now these settings are defined on the local machine group policy (not domain policy) and applied to users.  However, when I create a steady state ID, export it since it's identical settings for the next device, and import it on another computer setup the same exact way, the background, sounds, etc... are not applying.  If I create a new user, login with it prior to locking it down, the settings appear.

Any way to ensure that when importing the ssid that these settings still apply?  Seems like a bug, as it would make the import and export functions useless.

Any suggestions, assistance would be very much appreciated.

  • I was able to figure it out, didn't want the sound so disable the speaker in the bios.
