Setting Mandatory Applications in Task Sequence rather than rules RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi,

I am trying to set the MandatoryApplications in the task sequence by variable rather than in the rules (customsettings.ini)

I add a new task sequence variable called MandatoryApplications and in the value i put in the GUID. However LiteTouch does not correctly execute the step (app does not install) Also there are no errors reported at the end.

    Can anyone help?

(im aware I can add an install application step into teh task sequence but wanted to know why the above is not working)

  • Never tried to do this in a TS (and I'm not sure if you can) but, in any case, are you including the numeric suffix? The property is MandatoryApplications001, MandatoryApplications002, and so on. You will still need an Install Application step to actually get anything installed.

Right now it simply sounds like you are declaring a variable - and then doing nothing with it.
