What do to with new WIN 10 GPOs

    Question

  • Many years ago, I configured the Start Menu to not display the Control Panel in my Windows 7 environment.

I am ready to download the newest Win 10 Admin templates for the GPO admin.

Is it OK to overwrite my old startmenu.admx (actually all of the old admx) with the new startmenu.admx and still retain the control panel setting that I configured?

Probably a weird question, but it's my first time in the Group Policy admin position :-)

Answers

  • Based on my experience, you can just copy and replace the existing .admx files. No existing GPO settings will get lost.
