SCOM Agent Install Error RRS feed

  • Question

  • The Operations Manager Server could not execute WMI
Query "Select * from Win32_OperatingSystem" on computer *.*.net.

    Operation: Agent Install

    Install account: *

    Error Code: 80041032

    Error Description: IDispatch error #3634

Can someone tell me why I am getting this error when trying to install an agent?  Thanks.

  • The error code seems to be associated with this:

    WBEM_E_CALL_CANCELLED
    2147749938 (0x80041032)

Asynchronous process has been canceled internally or by the user. Note that due to the timing and nature of the asynchronous operation, the operation may not have been truly canceled.

Could be a WMI corruption issue. Logon using an Admin account on that machine and try to perform the same WMI query.

Open powershell with admin privileges and run:

gwmi -Query "Select * FROM Win32_OperatingSystem"

If you don't get any errors then the WMI repository is OK, and you can review the permissions for the SCOM action account. If it's a custom discovery from a management pack you might have a Run As Profile that you might have to associate with a Run As Account.

If the WMI query from PS gives an error you might need to rebuild the WMI repository on that machine.

  • Hi,

Please make sure that the account that you used to install the agent is a member of the local Administrators group on the server on which you install the agent.

  • Hello,

The firewall could be the problem of this error. Try to disable it and see if the problem persists or open the following ports in your local firewall of your server:

    • System Center Management service
    • File and Print Sharing
    • Remote Administration
