Registry Subkey for the order of Vista's Quick Launch Icons RRS feed

  • Question

  • I have 75 icons (small) on Vista's Quick Launch Toolbar with the Taskbar vertically arrayed and set to Auto-Hide and On Top. Once in a two or three week interval Vista's start will scramble the order of these icons. Not loose them, but randomly reposition them. PITA.

I assume there is a Registry subkey that records their exact sequence in the Quick Launch area. I would like to export this subkey as a Backup to reduce the time of manually restoring each of the 75's position.

    Anyone know this subkey?

    Thanks!

  • For Windows XP, the Desktop icons are at the registry key below.

Check if the Quick Launch icons are there too, I'm not sure.

    HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\Streams\Desktop\TaskbarWinXP
