MS Proj 2007 Finish Variance RRS feed

  • Question

  • I created an arbitrary activity with

    Dur PS PF
    20 edays 12/19/2011 8:00 1/8/2012 8:00

After making baseline of it, below table shows update with 4 and 5 days delay in start in Variance Table. Is there anything we should know why the start and finish variance do not appear right please?

  • In elapsed durations, Project ignores calendars when calculating the schedule. Pls test your scenario with day entry instead of eday entry.

  • Oh

    I guess 1 calendar = 3 x 8 hr days, so 4 calendar days = 12 days delay.

    Any other advice please?

  • It looks like you are using the 24hours calendar in the project.  Check Project > Project Information to see what is set as the project calendar.  You are correct, you still have 1 day = 8 hours (Tools > Options) but you are allowing 24 working hours per day.

    I hope this helps.
