Search Scope attribute definition doesn’t show up in the search bar of a Custom Resource Type RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hello,

I need your help in following scenario:

Forefront Identity Manager 2010 R2 (without SP1) is used on Windows Server 2008 R2 with Sharepoint Foundation 2010 and SQL Server 2008 R2.

At the FIM Portal we have created a new Resource-type: “MyResourceType”

For this resource type we have defined the Usage Keyword “MyResourceTypeUsageKeyword”.

The new resource type has the bindings for:

    • DisplayName
    • MyCustomAttribute1 (indexed string)
    • MyCustomAttribute2 (reference/DN)

After that we have created a new SeachScope with the following values:

    • DisplayName = MyCustomSearchscope
    • Usage Keyword = MyResourceTypeUsageKeyword
    • Order = 300
    • Attribute Searched = DisplayName
    • Search Scope Filter = /MyResourceType
    • Resource Type = MyResourceType
    • Attribute = DisplayName;MyCustomAttribute1;MyCustomAttribute2

We have also created a new Navigation Bar Resource with the following values:

    • DisplayName = MyNavigationBarEntry
    • Usage Keyword = MyResourceTypeUsageKeyword
    • Parent Order = 10
    • Navigation URL = ~/IdentityManagement/aspx/customized/CustomizedObjects.aspx?type=MyResourceType&searchtype=GUID from MyCustomSearchScope

After that we have created a Set containing “MyCustomSearchScope” and “MyNavigationBarEntry” and have given the Administrator Set the right “Read” onto the Resources inside this Set.

But whatever we are doing, the custom SearchScope attribute definition doesn’t show up in the search bar of a Custom Resource Type. Instead of that every time the following Attributes are displayed:

    • Display Name
    • Description
    • Created Time
    • Resource Type

    Any help would be appreciated

    kind regards

    Bodo

  • Add MyResourceType to the usage keywords for this Search scope and you will be fine :)
