Uninstall/Reinstall DPM 2012 R2 RRS feed

  • Question

  • Got a problem. Imagine that.

So DPM 2012 R2 was installed into our environment as a trial, many moons ago. I inherited the environment recently, and found that DPM has been borked for about 2 years, with the dreaded "evaluation copy expired" message.

So I says, I just uninstall, and then reinstall so I can pop in the PID that should've been entered 2 years ago.

Uninstall went with no problems, the app and its files appear to be gone from the system.  However, when attempting to reinstall the software, I get:

"The evaluation copy of DPM has expired. (ID: 3751)" etc., etc.

I've looked around the drive, attempted searching the registry, and couldn't find anywhere that this flag is hanging around.  DPM appears to be completely gone, but I still can't install.

Does anyone have an idea where I can flip the bit to show that DPM is truly gone?

  • Hi,

Could you check that the DPM SQL database was also removed?

This could be why the system still detects a prior version installed.
