Have you confirmed with the sender to see if he or she had sent the messages?
What if checking the messages in the webmail and seeing whether the problem persists?
Please have a look at the detailed email address to see if it is corresponding to the display name of the sender. Based on my experience, it seems like junk or phishing messages that passed through the spam filters.
