Windows Virtual XP Mode doesn't start up RRS feed

  • Question

  •  I get an error message:  Could not enable intergration features. The program has been working in the past tho. I have a Reg'd copy of Windows 7 Pro.

When I chose continue, all I got was a black screen and no option to enable integration features.

Another user tried this solution: "I found the settings screen for XP Mode through Start menu, All programs, Windows virtual PC, Windows Virtual PC. Then right click on the windows virtual PC icon and select settings. Highlight Close and change the automatically close with the following action: from hibernate to shut down.

When I closed the xp mode window the next time it asked me if I really wanted to force the shutown of the window, I said yes. The next time I started windows xp mode it came up and all my programs were OK..."

I tried this but got NO option to "select settings" Can someone pls help me, i can get around on my comp fairly well but im just a user and not and IT Tech. I use virtual xp mode to run a few programs not compatible with Win 7 64bit.

  • Hi,

Please delete the file Windows XP Mode.vsv ( Virtual Machine Saved State) in the folder C:\users\<USERNAME>\appdata\microsoft\Windows Virtual PC\Virtual Machines.

    And try it again.

  • Andre Ziegler...Thankx ever so much for ur speedy reply to my query. I've copied ur reply and saved it in Notepad for my future reference shud my issue ever return. In a panic attack i engaged a System Restore from 5 days previous which not only fixed the Virtual XP issue but my Windows Live Chat probs as well. Not having a chance to apply ur 'fix'...i did appreciate your time and rapid reply greatly. It is a great comfort to know there are folks such as yourself out here giving time and expertise & help.  Best Regards, bgg415
