Run Project Server Application Service (2013) on all servers? RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi.

I have a farm with 5 servers with SharePoint 2013 and Project Server 2013. 4 of them have web application hosting (Microsoft SharePoint Foundation Web Application).

Should I run Project Server Application Service with all servers with web application hosting, or just starting on one server is enough?

    Thanks.

  • Hello,

Typically with a 5 server deployment I would go with 3 web servers and 2 app servers with the SharePoint service apps (including Project Server Application) running only on the App servers.

In your topology you would normally only run Project Server on the 1 app server but this all depends on the scale of the app server and the usage of Project Server and other service applications on the farm.
