Single Domain Controller - Problems with DFSR Replication

    Question

  • Hi there,

I have a single 2012r2 DC with the EventLogID 9061 - the C:\Windows\SYSVOL\domain cant replicate within MaxOfflineTimeInDays of 100days.

There was an old DC which I demoted and is now offline.

Question: Do I need DFSR to be active on a single Domain Controller?

Can I just remove the DFS Replication in the mmc console?

    thanks a lot, Kind regards,

    Adrian

    Hi

You should perform metadata cleanup to remove this unavaible dc from domain first,

  • Hi Adrian,

Make sure the old domain controllers references has been properly removed.

Check the content freshness configuration. MaxOfflineTimeInDays is by default set for 60 days. Just try changing it to 120 days and restart DFSR.

  • Hi Rafic,

Thanks for your reply and your helpful link. cause there is only 1 DC there is not much to replicate, so I wonder

if I just can disable dsfr service or delete the dsfr replication with mmc.exe.

    kind regards,
