The 32bit Office 2010 Filter Packs will not install on Windows 7 x64 RRS feed

    The 32bit Office 2010 Filter Packs will not install on Windows 7 x64. This is a problem for 32bit software that needs an IFilter interface to access the plain text for .docx files and others. Since Windows 7 x64 supports 32/64 for .doc files, why is this a problem now?

    Hi,

    I think you should ask in Office forum whether the 32bit Office 2010 Filter Packs can be installed on Windows 7 x64.

    Since you're using a 64 bit operating system, I think you have to install the 64 bit version of the Office 2010 Filter Packs.

    Just out of curiosity:

    With Office 2010, you had the choice of installing a 32 or 64 bit version on a 64 bit OS. (Office 32 bit is the default, even on X64.)

    Which version of Office 2010 is installed?
