DPM Agent Crashes unexpectedly RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi there,

    I'm trying to troubleshoot a clients DPM 2010 (3.0.8195) installation:
    All backups work fine except for an SBS2011 box, where the status of the protection groups is "Agent not reachable". When attempting to get the agent status in the Management tab DPM returns Internal error code 0x8099090E.

    I verified network connectivity and firewall settings. I then checked if hitting "Refresh Information" actually starts the dpmra agent on the PS, and then noticed that the agent starts fine, but then terminates unexpectedly (EventID 7034).

    sc queryex dpmra returns nothing useful (Win32 exit code 1067 = terminated unexpectedly).
    In addition, the Today's Jobs list will show a bunch of backups as completed successfully, but as mentioned above the status in the Protection Groups is "Agent unreachable".

    I found a bunch of these "error-groups" in the DPMRACurr.errlog file (one sample, abbreviated for better legibility):

    radefaultsubtask.cpp(356) WARNING Failed: Hr: = [0x809909b0] : CRADefaultSubTask: WorkitemID does not exist, {A4626A37-C275-4D5F-AE70-451519C6E63E}

    runtime.cpp(1599) FATAL ]

    Not sure where to go from here. Thx in advance for help and/or pointers!
    Rgds - Marcus.
