administrative command prompt command to generate and method to get permission to view and save RRS feed

  • Question

  • What is the one line administrative command prompt command to generate:

    C:\programdata\Microsoft\windows defender\support\

The file can be found and opened with administrative command prompt notepad but it is not readable.

Once this file is generated how is if found when a file explorer search does not find it?

    Is it hidden?

    Are special permissions required?

Please list all of the steps in as much detail as possible.

  • Hi questionsformicrosoftproducts,

Would you please share us more details of the issue? What is the main purpose?

I have tried to gain a with command line "MpCmdRun -getfiles –scan
" and it could be viewed with Windows Explorer directly on Windows 10 1703 machine. Actually it is a
Zipped file, we should extract it to read the contents in it.

If you didn't gain permission to get that file, please try the following command line to gain permission to that file.
    takeown /f "C:\programdata\Microsoft\windows defender\support\" /d y
    icacls "C:\programdata\Microsoft\windows defender\support\" /grant administrators:F /q

    Best regards
