32 bit and 64 bit RRS feed

  • Question

  • I have just downloaded a trial version of microsoft publisher 2010 - 64 bit (my computer has a 64 bit operating system), and I keep getting an error message when I try to install it.  It says that as outlook 2010 is a 32 bit program that it can't install publisher.  Help!

  • It means you have installed outlook 32bit, you can't mix bitness with office package.

So if you have publisher 64 bit install all of office apps must be 64 bit.

  • Hi,

Yes, 32-bit Office does not co-exist with 64-bit Office in the same Windows Operating System. You need choose either 32-bit or 64-bit.

You can also try to create a Virtual PC as a workaround.
