  • Question

  • is it possible with MDT to have a task sequence that runs Command Prompt and shows the CMD window to be able to input variables for batch files or PowerShell scripts to be ran during the task sequence deployment?

    Thanks

to be able to input variables for batch files or PowerShell scripts

It's not prompting the user, it is prompting the IT Technician that is setting up the machine for the user.

Thanks for your response. How do you create the script to prompt? When I had the Task Sequence run a batch file, PowerShell script, or just CMD in general, the Task Sequence shows the progress bar that the script is being ran, but the window for the script does not appear for user interaction, therefore, when the script asks for a variable to be input by the user, the process for the script hangs indefinitely because you can't see a window to input the variable.

I would look into using an HTA script. With it you can build a UI with form fields for selection and validation. You create them using vbscript, html and javascript.
