  • Interesting question,

I tried the WMI method named UnjoinDomainOrWorkgroup on the CIM Class Win32_ComputerSystem to achieve this but it fails.

Let's see if someone has already figured this one out.

  • Have you tried the Remove-Computer cmdlet?  It works either from local machine or remotely for 'regular' machines.  Haven't tried it for Nano.

  • Hi,

didn't work for me on Nano from TP4.

The CMDlet is not available on NanoServer and if I do it remote it says: "not supported".

tried it with netdom...similiar Error: "not supported"

is Microsoft trying to tell me that it is not supported to remove a Nano Server from a Domain, once joined? :D

  • Hi,

In windows 10 pro, 86 cmdlet in module Microsoft.PowerShell.Management

and only 53 in nanoserver TP5

add-computer and remove-computer are not in it.

We have to wait for a further release

  • The Remove-Computer cmdlet removes the local computer and remote computers from their current domains.  Since you are already managing the Nano server remotely, you can readily issue the cmdlet from the managing computer.
