How to change the color of an active window RRS feed

  • Question

  • I use a program similar to Word and I need to change the background color. In the past I could go into the advanced appearance settings and change the color of the Active Window using the advanced appearance settings. I cannot find any way to change this in Windows 8. Does anyone know how I can change this? Spending 8 or more hours a day looking at this bright white page is going to make me crazy and it is going to make my work suffer since I rely on using a different background color to make text errors stand out. I understand Microsoft's desire to make a new and exciting program but they should not ditch the features that a lot of people have come to rely on and/or make them next to impossible to find.
