Collection Migration- with objects related to the collection (From SCCM 2007 to SCCM 2012). RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi All,

what is the behavior if migrating the SCCM 2007 collections/Deployments/clients to SCCM 2012, when we set the SCCM 2007 deployments are "Mandatory assignment" and program behavior set as "always rerun the program"( attached pic).

As per TechNet blog clients retain the advertisement history. but if we set the program behavior as "always rerun" will the advertisements will re-run as soon as SCCM 2007 clients migrated to SCCM 2012?

    TIA

  • I am looking for following information. I know about no changes in the deployment settings.

what is the behavior - if we set the SCCM 2007 deployments are "Mandatory assignment" and program behavior set as "always rerun the program".

The SCCM 2007 advertisements will re-run as soon as SCCM 2007 clients migrate to SCCM 2012?

  • Thanks for the update Torsten.

Even I thought same - advertisements will re-run but not 100% sure.

Any one have tested before or any one know please confirm the deployment behavior in SCCM 2012(SCCM 2007 - Mandatory assignment" and program behavior set as "always rerun the program")

    TIA

  • Depends on the schedule of the advertisement. It's should not re-run if there is no new schedule for the client.

  • Thanks for the update Peter.

Mandatory advertisement "As soon as possible" and program behavior set as "always rerun the program" - Configured in SCCM2007.

There is no new schedule configured. So it will not re-run as soon as installed the new SCCM 2012 client on the existing SCCM 2007client?

    TIA

  • Just try it in a testlab and tell us the results.
