MDT 2010 Disk Partition Alignment RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hello all,

We're looking to align our disks (specifically VM's, but physical servers also) so that they have a proper offset of 1,024KB for Server 2003.

Is there a way to get MDT 2010 to automate this during the inital Format and Partition disk task?

    Thanks,

    Graeme

  • For proper disk alignment I think that you need to create a custom script with diskpart and disable the ztidiskpart.wsf in your task sequence. I've seen a few tries in editing ztidiskpart but it break something else in the end.

  • This ended up working, I just have to create a new VM each time instead of formatting otherwise it cannot find the task sequence.

    Thanks.
