  • Hi,

    1. Go to Site Settings-> Advanced Permissions-> Settings-> Permission levels.
    2. This should take you to http://server/sites/sitename/_layouts/role.aspx page. Here you can able to see the default permission levels.
    3. Since you are saying that you want a contribute permission without delete, click on the default Contribute Permission displayed here.
    4. In the end of the page, click Copy Permission Level button.
    5. In the page opened give your custom permission level name and under List Permissions just uncheck the Delete Items permission. (this copies all permissions of Contribute and removes delete permission)
    6. Now click ok and your custom permission level is created.
    7. While creating a group or assigning permission to the user, use this custom level permission instead of contribute.

    Hope this helps.

    Thanks,

  • Create a custom permission level in SharePoint that  should not have the delete permission. Create a new SharePoint group and assign your custom permission level to that group. Next, add the users to the new SharePoint group.

Refer to the following URL's for more information.

  • Hi,

you can use Active Directory Groups, too. Create a sharepoint group and add the AD-group in the picker dialog. With that each change in the AD has impact on the permissions in your sharepoint site.
